Among the many things you need to check out with your Drupal site is it's RSS feeds. While RSS feeds might still be an unknown to many of the visitors to your site you can safely assume that will change sooner than later, and to those who know it, it's their way to monitor what's happening on your site on a daily basis.
I don't think I'll be viewed as a visionary to say that RSS will likely be like the letters http - one day you're viewed as some sort of crazy genius for saying RSS, the next day you'll be viewed as a ludite hermit if you don't know what it is. The simple fact that RSS readers are being baked into just about everything from cell phones to browsers to desktop widgets means it will be up there with email and websites as ways of communicating with your clients.
A great way to QA anything you do is to eat your own dog food. Subscribe to your RSS feeds in a million different ways. Try it out. See what it's like compared to other sites. Cue music... " Then you can start to make it better"
What likely stinks about your RSS feed and what you can do about it:
- Your site title is ultra long. Real estate on a phone is small, and no one is going to click through to read an article if the article title isn't even visible. The problem is likely your site slogan. The simple solution is to get rid of it from http://yoursite/admin/settings/site-information [1]
- Titles have no bite. Make them short and full of impact. Remember people aren't on your site yet, and you need to grab them when they have tons of other options.
- You just don't show up often. This is because you're not supplying enough content. Get writing, and publish on a regular basis.
